Accessing SCADA one-line diagrams

Last updated: June 26, 2026

See live substation status — regulators, breakers, reclosers, and transformers — on the one-line diagram.

SCADA data in Texture is viewed at the substation level. Each covered substation has a one-line diagram — a schematic of the substation laid out the way your control system sees it — plus a data display board view for an at-a-glance status. Here's how to find them.

Open a substation's SCADA view

  • Find the substation. In Explore, search for the substation by name, or open it from your substation list / grid views.

  • Open the one-line diagram. With the substation selected, click One-line diagram. You'll see the substation's layout — voltage regulators, breakers, reclosers, transformers, and switches.

  • Click an element to see its data. Select a regulator, transformer, recloser, or breaker to view its SCADA metrics — power, current, voltage, tap position, frequency, and power factor.

  • Switch to the data display. Open Data display for the larger operations-board view — recloser statuses, battery status, and the substation's key metrics together.

  • Put it on a wall display. Use the pop-out button to open the data display in its own window that refreshes about every 5 minutes — handy for an operations-center screen.

  • Look back in time. If enabled for your workspace, use the point-in-time control to scrub to a past moment and see what the metrics were then.

Good to know

  • Coverage is partial. SCADA appears only for substations where the utility provides data — not every substation has it, and some are better covered than others.

  • It shows what's there. The screens display only the elements and metrics there's data for; if a value isn't provided, it won't appear.

  • It mirrors your control room. The layout and elements come from your utility's own SCADA data, so it should look familiar.

  • Reading the labels. Common prefixes: VR = voltage regulator, BR = breaker; the over-current devices at the substation bays act as feeders (reclosers).

  • Dark mode by default. SCADA screens open in dark mode (the operations convention); switch to light mode anytime.
